CTMH - sharing a Superhero card!



You know, sometimes there's a paper pack that comes out and you think - now what would I do with that?  That's how SuperHero was for me.  I participate in my 5th upline - Karen Morris' swap with each new idea book, and this is the paper packet that I had.  Some of the papers in it are, well, busier than I usually work with.  Over the next few days, I'll be sharing some of the artwork! 

This card is great for a man or boy in your life that needs some encouragement, or even congratulations on a job well done.  I used the following products:

CTMH - Another Christmas card with Art Philosophy and cutting instructions, too!

This card was quick and easy!  And that's a good thing, since I'm WAY behind on getting the Christmas cards out this year.  As long as they're postmarked by Friday, I'm fine - right? 

Set your Cricut to 5 1/2", then select the buttons below - "CARD" and the 8th button from the left in the fourth row.  Load the Sweet Leaf cardstock, then cut.  This is your card base.



Other dimensions (Using a paper trimmer)
Plaid: 3" x 5 1/2"
Stripe: 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Holiday Red: 3/4" x 5 1/2"
Topiary: 2"x 3 3/4"
White Daisy:  1 1/2" x 3 1/2"

I lightly inked the edges of the card front in Topiary, and added Red Glitz for the holly berries.

CTMH - I love my Art Philosophy cartridge!

I really, really do love this cartridge.  For years, I've owned a baby bug, and when I saw the expression on sale at a store back in the spring, I bought it.  And it sat, in the box.  Until July.  That's when I received my Cricut Art Philosophy Collection in my Close to My Heart order.  Now I USE my Cricut, and love it!

I made these cards using the "card" button on the expression:

Bliss is such a wonderful paper pack!  I love the muted feel of the paper, and that you can pair it with several different colors for different looks.  I'm partial to Vineyard Berry (as you can see!)

CTMH - August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Something Splendid

I love this set; it's perfect for masculine cards too! First, I took a square template and sponged Creme Brulee ink in the all the way around - covering everything.  Then, I used Sunflower ink, loading more in the middle of the template and in a few spots along the edge to add more color variation,.  Then I took the flower and stamped it in Cocoa.  I stamped the sentiment in Cocoa as well.

CTMH - Cards for our wounded soldiers on this 4th of July weekend

A fellow Close to My Heart consultant brought this to my attention, and I'd like to share it with you.  

Her husband is at Mologne House at Walter Reed, recovering from surgery.  The men and women serving our country, who were wounded, spend time there recovering and rehabilitating. Some of them are there for long periods of time, and need to send cards to family or friends.  This is where you come in!

Generic, blank, all occasion cards would be best.  Then the soldiers can add whichever sentiment they wish for whichever occasion they need.  If you can help, the address to send the cards is:

CTMH - Thinking of you Card for a friend

A dear friend suffered a loss a few weeks ago.  I made this card for her.

I used Bella Level 2 papers, D1265 - Gracious Greetings ("thinking of you" stamped in Smokey Plum ink), C1318 - Best wishes (for inside sentiment), C1341 - Motherhood (flower, stamped in 2nd generation Smokey Plum ink) and the Wishes Card Confidence Program (Bullseye pattern)

CTMH Happy Halloween Card- Beware stamp set and a Tutorial

As soon as I saw Beware (D1381), I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do with the Happy Halloween sentiment!  To me, the "circle" around the words and bat looks like a full moon.  So I used the shadow stamping technique to achieve the look I wanted!

Step 1: I flipped the stamp onto the "wrong side" and inked it using Autumn Terracotta ink.  I didn't want it quite so dark, so I used 2nd generation stamping (stamping on scratch paper first, then stamping the image) to remove some of the ink.

Step 2: Then I flipped the stamp back over, and used Black Ink for the image.

This is how the image looked - exactly as I'd imagined it! You can see the difference that second generation stamping made when you compare it to the first image on scratch paper.

Then, I assembled the card using Boom-Di-Ada papers, Barn Red Cardstock, Colonial White Cardstock, Black bitty brads (Basic Assortment), and  Black Ribbon to finish it off.
